ABOUT PERSIAN KITTENS
Surprisingly little is known about the history of the Persian cat, despite its presence among humans since the 1600s. Persians are thought to have originated in Persia, (now modern-day Iran) and Turkey. The breed moved westward to Europe with the Crusades.
They became popular among the nobility, including Queen Victoria of England. The Persian cat breed had elegant long hair—a position they shared with other long-haired cats of the region, a group referred to at the time as Asiatic cats. Persians Kittens were originally called Angoras, named for Ankara, the capital of Turkey.
The popularity of Persian cats for sale was further bolstered when the cat show circuit started to gain steam in the late 19th century. It was during this time that they were brought over to the United States, where they quickly surpassed the Maine Coon cat as America’s preferred long-haired cat breed.
OUR BLOG
Proper nutrition means feeding you cat what it has evolved and inherited from it's big cat cousins. All cats are carnivorous and need their protein from animal sources and not fillers such as grains or other by product. Corn, wheat and soy are big no-no.
*****Look at the ingredients of the product you intend to buy. Most commercial cat foods has Corn as the first ingredient. Cats are not meant to eat corn, wheat or soy. These are not the protein sources that your cat needs to stay healthy and have a glossy coat. We feed our persian kittens and cats grain-free kibble also known as dry cat food. Since we're not paid by any sponsors, we can only recommend cat foods where the first ingredient in the list is a protein source. Meats such as Chicken, Duck, Turkey, Salmon, and Tuna are great protein sources. We also feed our persian kittens and cats wet food that is also grain-free. Since the field is limited, we will list the brands that make grain-free wet food. Crave, Nutro, and Iams Kitten are all great foods for your kittens and cats. Once you kitten or cat has a proper foundation in health, we can next move onto tips for keeping the coat glossy.
